Taco Pauka is involved in management advisory, policy development and compiles policy plans, annual reports, project plans, bid-books etc. for museums, other cultural institutions, municipalities and private funds.
During his career Taco developed and produced many exhibitions in museums and visitor centers. As managing director of the Netherlands Police museum, he carried out a reorganization and effected a merger between two museums which enabled a go-around to a new museum in Almere (new town near Amsterdam): ‘P!T’. During the start-up for this new safety museum, Taco Pauka developed the museum concept, took care of the relation management and wrote, among other things, scenario`s, scripts, bid books and policy- and communication plans. As producer, he contributed for Stichting Nationaal Veiligheidsinstituut (‘National Safety institute’, the result of the merger) to the editorial and logistic realization of ‘P!T’, a new museum, opened for the public in 2014.
Earlier, as head of the public department and project manager for Ecomare on the island of Texel, Taco Pauka managed the renovation of this natural museum and seals rehabilitation center. In the Tropenmuseum (Royal Tropical Institute KIT) in Amsterdam, he developed and produced several exhibitions for the internationally leading Children’s Museum TM-junior and he worked for the communication department. For two theater companies, he took care of the research for productions, the sales of touring productions and the tour-organization. Taco Pauka has worked in secondary and vocational education and provided courses for various institutions. He has applied his extensive management experience and the many advisory routes carried out by him for art, cultural and government institutions.
Beside an experienced manager, Taco Pauka is also a creative content developer. He has written many texts, scenarios and scripts for exhibitions, multimedia, and educational projects on a wide variety of subjects and target groups.
Taco Pauka rarely works singly. His company STAAG performs concept development, production management, producing, communication, company policy and management in cooperation with a broad network of excellent professionals with various skills. Taco Pauka is one of the founders of MUSEUMMAKERS, a partnership of experts.
